The Lewis Mighty Fund was launched in June 2009 to help raise £300,000 so that Lewis Mighty could be given cutting edge cancer treatment in New York.
Lewis was diagnosed in October 2008 with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. He has so far endured some of the most intensive cancer treatments available in the UK and has almost exhausted all curative treatments. Despite this Lewis has remained a happy little boy who has extreme determination and inner strength! He has amazed doctors with the way he has tolerated treatment with only minimal side effects. The Fund was set up by a team of financial advisors in Derby and local support has been overwhelming. Local McDonald's restaurants launched The Lewis Mighty Fund wristbands selling them in their restaurants for £1 & in many outlets around Derby.
Lewis has also gained national support from the likes of Amir Khan who proudly ordered his wristbands and sent a picture of him wearing them. Derby County skipper Robbie Savage has also thrown weight behind the fund. Robbie donated some fabulous prizes to be auctioned off including a meal for 6 cooked by him at his house! Recently singer James Morrison has also shown support by giving copyright to one of his songs to the fund to be used with a promotional video.
Currently Lewis has a 20% chance of surviving the next 2 years. With treatment in the USA this could increase to 60%. If you think you can help by getting involved please, please contact us today!!
